Adjacent to downtown and bordered by Kenmore, West Akron, and Highland Square. The name traces back to Melcher Sherbondy, who bought 368 acres here around 1816; the community was briefly renamed Lane-Wooster before being restored to Sherbondy Hill in 2017 in recognition of its history as one of Akron's most historically Black communities and its early ties to Akron's Jewish community. Anchors include Perkins Woods pool, Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts, the Akron Zoo, the Odom Branch Library, the Helen Arnold CLC, the Akron Urban League, and Cleveland Clinic Akron General just over the line — and the corridor is one of the city's "Great Streets" investment targets.
