University Park Events

Built around the University of Akron's main campus and the working-class community that wraps around it. Over 90% of residents are under 45, and the several blocks immediately around campus may be the most-walked stretch in Akron. E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall, the John S. Knight Center, university lectures, Zips athletics, performances, the Goodyear Polymer Center, and student-organization events drive a calendar that's busy year-round and especially dense during the academic year. South and east of campus the working-class character holds steady, with a significant mix of student rental housing folded in.
